My Night with Reg. (NHB Version, by Kevin Elyot.)

The play is set in 1980's England at the height of the AIDS
epidemic. The play
follows the lives of practising homosexual friends, who
reminisce of times gone by; old friends; old
lovers and boyfriends.

There are many serious undertones to the play, with comedic touches.

(Monologues and duologues to follow)

Characters age and names

John-Male,  mid 30s
Guy-Male, mid 30s
Eric-Male, 18
Daniel-Male, mid 30s
Bernie-Male, mid 40s
Benny-Male, mid 30s

Setting

Guy's flat. Ground floor. Sitting room. A conservatory adjoins it leading into the garden. A door leads into the rest of the flat

Keywords

1980's, homosexuality, reminiscing, reunion's, comedy, unfulfilled, friendships, living on the past, aids epidemic.

(Characters and settings are directly taken from the NHB version, they are not my words and I do not wish to benefit from them in anyway. My only want is for creatives to explore the play if they wish to do so)

Ethos

The following is a means for support for all Drama teacher's.

For years I have struggled to find a place that supports my teaching.

This blog is simple. I need:

  • Plays broken down, summarised and ready to go!
  • Plays that suit certain ages of student, certain styles of acting.
  • A full range monologues and duologues at my beckon call.
